Lay Low with 4 nominations

The Icelandic Music Awards 2006 were announced this morning and Lay Low received the most nominations. Lay Low is nominated in the categories; album of the year for Please Don't Hate Me, song of the year for Please Don't Hate Me, female vocals, and cover of the year. Pétur Ben and the Baggalútur group are nominated for three awards each. Jóel Pálsson received two nominations in the Jazz section. This is the 13th Icelandic Music Awards and will be held on January 31st.

Performer of the year; Baggalútur, Björgvin Halldórsson, Bubbi Morthens.

Song of the year; Baggalútur and Björgvin Halldórsson: Allt fyrir mig, Lay Low: Please Don't Hate Me, Ghostigital: Not Clean.

Female singer of the year; Regína Ósk, Andrea Gylfadóttir, Lay Low.

Male singer of the year; Bubbi Morthens, Friðrik Ómar, Pétur Ben.

Video of the year; Trabant: The One, Hafdís Huld: Tomoko, Ghostigital: Northern Lights.

Cover of the year; Lay Low: Please Don"t Hate Me, Ampop: Sail to the Moon, Toggi: Puppy.

Brightest hope of the year; Elfa Rún Kristinsdóttir, Jakobínarína, Pétur Ben.
